ECLIPSE: Ecosystem for Collaborative Lunar Infrastructure Planning and Systems Engineering

ECLIPSE is a collaborative digital engineering ecosystem developed by a Georgia Tech Systems of Systems Grand Challenge team to support lunar-base architecting from mission requirements through spatial planning, simulation, verification, and 3D visualization. As Workflow Integrator and the team’s GIS/urban-planning and visualization contributor, I developed the spatial decision layer that translated real lunar terrain and environmental constraints into site-selection and infrastructure-placement outputs for downstream engineering analysis. The year-long project was developed within the LUNAverse Grand Collaboration environment and involved technical engagement with Georgia Tech ASDL, NASA, The Aerospace Corporation, NVIDIA, Studio 52, and the Open Solar System Foundation ecosystem. The team’s work was reviewed with external advisors including NASA’s Robert Mueller and The Aerospace Corporation’s Dennis Paul, and the resulting research paper was accepted for presentation at AIAA SciTech 2027. ECLIPSE continues to serve as a foundation for subsequent student development and research.
